# Arc evaporators

Cathodic arc evaporators made by Laboratory of Vacuum Technologies Plus (LVT) for wear-resistant and hardening coatings: the [D40](/arc-evaporator-d40) and [D80](/arc-evaporator-d80) evaporators, the linear arc evaporator [LEDI](/linear-arc-evaporator-ledi), and the pulsed arc evaporator, a carbon plasma source for diamond-like (DLC) coatings.

The cathode is made of the deposited material itself: the deposition rate is high and the films are dense. Power supplies and kits are listed in [Arc evaporators power supplies](/arc_evaporators_power_supplies).
